  • Identify and use alternative methods of communication

New Hampshire’s Disability and Health Program created these two virtual, self-paced courses to help healthcare professionals learn how to recognize health disparities and possible barriers to healthcare access faced by people with disabilities and to be able to identify and utilize alternative methods of communication for patients with disabilities that encourage them to participate in their own care.

 

The purpose of these trainings is to provide inclusive and accessible health care to all, regardless of disability or limitation. They are intended to educate, inform, and better prepare healthcare providers on best practices when working with or treating individuals with disabilities.
